Sydney: Social networking site Facebook faced a third phishing attack on the weekend, with a malware, which steals login credentials and even gets home addresses, being downloaded through a video.
According to WebSense, the malware is spread via a “hilarious video” posted to Facebook walls, which when clicked, produces a form requesting login information, reports the Sydney Morning Herald. Read more

May 31 (Bloomberg) — India’s economic growth accelerated, adding pressure on the central bank to raise interest rates even as Europe’s sovereign-debt crunch threatens the global recovery.
India and China, the world’s fastest-growing major economies, are weighing the risk of Europe’s debt crisis reducing demand in the market that accounts for a fifth of their exports. For India, the room to pause on monetary tightening is limited because its benchmark inflation rate is more than three times that in China. Read more

NEW DELHI: Microsoft chief executive Steve Ballmer on Thursday said he was unconcerned that his company had been overtaken by rival Apple as the world’s biggest technology firm in terms of market value.
Ballmer spoke to reporters in New Delhi day after Apple, maker of the iPod, iPhone and iPad, passed the software giant for the first time.

Yahoo! Buys Indonesia Social Site Koprol

SUNNYVALE, Calif. (TheStreet) — Yahoo!(YHOO) acquired Koprol, a social network based in Jakarta, Indonesia. Financial terms of the deal weren’t disclosed.
Yahoo! said Tuesday that Koprol allows users to connect and share photos, reviews and community information about locations such as local businesses by using their mobile phone browsers.
“Users are increasingly relying on mobile devices to communicate and access the Internet and they are looking for seamless integration between those devices and PCs. This is especially true in many emerging markets where we are introducing the Yahoo! brand to many new-to-Net users,” said Rose Tsou, senior vice president of Yahoo!’s Asia region, in a statement. “Koprol was uniquely designed for mobile phones and within a year has already built a strong user base. ” Read more
